A little bit of this...a little bit of that.

So, I haven't been here for a while... so I have random things to share that have been poorly documented.

First of all, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving night I had to work at Fossil at 8:30pm because we opened at 9pm, awesome.  I hope you hear the resentment in my voice, haha. I had to leave Pennsylvania a little after 6 to make sure I arrived to the Jersey Shore Outlets on time. Oh well- over and done with. I managed not to get maced, jumped or killed, so I guess working Black Friday was a success.

Last Saturday, my best friend had her baby shower.  I was in charge of the games, prizes and some desserts, so here are some of the things I did:

Wine Bottle in Towel with Bow:

Prize number one: Wine wrapped in a towel and tied with a pretty bow.  The new mommy and I always used to drink a little too much wine, so I decided to torture her with it because, well...I'm a bitch ;)
via

Gift card Snow Globe:

 Products needed
Put glitter and decorations inside of the mason jar.  Hot glue the gift card to the lid (that faces inside)

Price number two: snow globe gift card holder. I made two. One for the baby shower and one for the fossil gift exchange :)
via

Pink and Zebra Cookies:

I made these cookies and they came out salmon colored first- ew, so then I made a quick batch of sugar cookies with red dye. **My friend's theme was pink and zebra striped**
via

Fruity Pebble Treats:

Fruity pebble treats :)

I also used a mason jar to put an apron in and attached a recipe to the jar for one of the prizes at the baby shower :) Thank you pinterest :)

I also got a third degree burn (I'm sure I'm exaggerating) from the melted chocolate I put into diapers for one of the games.  Sick, I know. But- watching people guess what kind of chocolate was melted in the diapers was pretty priceless ;)

Thankful Thursday

Every Thanksgiving I send my best friends a text message telling them why I'm thankful for having them in my life.  I personalize every text message to show them how much I care about our relationship and just why they are so important to me.  I include silly jokes, things we do daily, and a mushy thing or two. Thanksgiving is about being thankful for what you have and I am so thankful I have the support and love of my friends.  Tell those around you how much they mean to you today.  This is something that should be done more than once a year, but take time out today to start a new tradition with those you love (and hopefully you can implement it more than once a year).

It may be cheesy, but I'm also thankful for all of you read my blog <3 Happy Thanksgiving loves <3

November Foodzie

My monthly box has come again! I love when I pull up to my apartment and find my kitty sitting in the window and a box in front of my door. I usually jump out of my car and forget to turn it off while running for my box.  When I don't have my keys in my hand I realize that my car is still running.  Oh, silly me.

Why the long face, Ang?  Not sure- it's probably that I had to pose for a picture before I could rip open the box.  I'm pretty impulsive.
Maxwell doesn't know how to contain his excitement either- he got it from his mama.
So what is inside, you ask?  1. Dried cranberries 2. Cornmeal baking mix- that has recipes inside 3. Garlic Onion Pistachios 4. Pickled Figs 5. Fruit Nut Crostini 6. Pistachio and Almond Nougat

Hold the phone- as I'm writing this I just realized I didn't see the nougats. Shoot- and I'm at work, so I can't go digging. Hopefully its hiding in the stuffing of the box!

Any-who- my favorite thing this month (that I tried) was the Garlic Onion Pistachios- holy yum.  It may sound like a weird combo, but boy oh boy...I just couldn't get enough of them.  Thank gosh they were inside a shell or I would have eaten the whole bag.  Since I had to work for my food it made me back down slightly.

Nougats not pictured because I didn't realize they were in the box!

Sadly, this may be my 2nd to last Foodzie box.  They increased the price, so I'm not sure I can justify getting it anymore.  Next month the price is staying the same, so I guess it'll be my last.  FOODZIE- Why ruin a good thing?!   They HAVE added new options though, so it does seem like it will be even more awesome. If you like trying new things or cooking you should check out the box here.
I do still recommend the box! I think it is awesome and has given me the opportunity to try so many new things!

Check out some of my other boxes here and here

Recap

I talked about last weekend in two posts (here and here), but I never got to tell about Saturday night (minus my entry here), which talked about my little "Shout out" gone wrong, haha. **Oh my life**

Anyway, I mentioned that Ashley came to visit on Friday night, but I didn't say that Katie came to visit on Saturday! Katie is one of my bestest friends from college who lives all the way in Maine, wahhhh (<---- pity party that I'm throwing for myself.)  I was SUPER excited about my weekend with some of my girls and it turned out to be just what the doctor ordered.
Before we went out we played a game called "thumper"- have you ever heard of it? It's a drinking game that makes my legs turn black and blue (repetitive hitting will do this, I guess). Yes, I'm being serious. Obviously I need to get serious about taking vitamins because my bruising is not cool.

Here's some pictures from the ladies weekend:
 Some of my best <3

^
And this, my friends, would be a "classic" Katie and Angela picture.  It is what happens when we are out and about.  We drink- we laugh- we take pictures in the bathroom. It is what it is. I wouldn't change it for anything.

How was your weekend, lovies?! I'd love to hear about it <3

The morning after...

...a night of adult beverages I am insanely hungry when I wake up. That being said, Ashley and I raced to a place I've been dying to take her to called "Turning Point". They have delicious food that is fresh-to-death (aka: has a lot of fruit and goodness). We raced to get there before 8am because I had to work at 9.Only to find out they do not open until 8am, WHAT?!. I have never heard of such a thing. I was a little appalled (it could have been the hunger talking).  So instead of waiting outside the front doors we walked across the road to look at the ocean for a few minutes.
So, at 7:55 we walked back over and waited outside (I know it is obnoxious to do, but it was cold and what place that serves breakfast, and dare I say specializes in breakfast, opens at 8am??).  So we waited and waited and the people inside definitely saw us (I say this because I was intentionally moving around with BIG motions). I look at my watch and it is 8:04. What?!?! So...I knocked on the door. I was one of those people. I was one of those people that waited outside and then knocked on the door. I know it sounds rude, but 1. it was cold 2. hunger was talking 3. I had to leave for work in 25 minutes 4. I had zero caffeine running through my nearly frozen veins ....
Turning Point showed me zero failure once the coffee arrived and the food was placed in front of me.  I ordered the waffles and Ashley ordered the stuffed french toast.  It was incredible.  Also, I want that cow milk dispenser so badly. Every time I go I want to accidentally drop it into my bag, but decide against it each time. Damn morals.

Celebrate good times, COME ON!

Ashley, Amanda and Me
On Friday, Ashley came from Pennsylvania to visit me (and Maxwell)! Ashley and I were roommates for two years in college...and she knows me REALLY well. It is actually kind of freaky sometimes.

The weekend was meant for celebrating. Celebrating Ashley's arrival...extending the celebration of Amanda's birthday ...celebrating life, friends, laughter...and whatever else we could think of. You cannot celebrate too much. Over celebrating does not exist (in my mind at least).

1. Ex-roomie love 2. Birthday girl, Me and Si.  3. Amanda, Jess, Si and Me

So, Si (the bouncer at Mix) adores me.  He calls me his redheaded wife. I'm kind of a big deal, ya know?  I obviously told him if I see him speaking to another redhead we will be done. I'm also kind of controlling...in "fake" relationships at least ;)

By the end of the night we found the captain. Obviously ball grabbing was necessary. Boy am I obnoxious or what? I cannot be taken out. I should not be let out in public. Sometimes I question how I even have friends...

From NJ to Australia

Today I'm going to share and event I took part in called "Package Pals", which was hosted by Gentri Lee

I was assigned to exchange packages with Jasmine who lives in Australia!

Here is what I sent over to Jasmine...
**To see what was in this package go over to Jasmine's blog. She did an ADORABLE summary of what I got her and she included a video!

And what I received was amazing....

Her package was nothing short of amazing. She is so creative and crafty (can you sense how jealous I am, haha).  I got AMAZING handmade cards and flower garland that is gorgeous (see picture below).  AND chocolate and lollipops :)

Look at these cards!!! They are handmade and look at how thoughtful the cat and A's are (since my name starts with an A and I adore my kitty cat).  The owl cards were made on handmade paper! And um....have you seen that garland (it deserves a few shout outs)?

Jasmine, thank you so much for everything.  I really love it all.  Gentri, thank you so much for hosting such an amazing event. You are the best. This exchange was the Bomb Diggity (told you I'd use it, Debbie)
Make sure you check out Gentri's Blog to see all of the other packages sent and received!

Shout out!

One letter can change the meaning of a whole sentence...

On Saturday night, Katie and I were dancing to a house band at a local bar.  We got a shout out after a song from the lead singer that said "Shout out to the beautiful ladies in the corner" and we were like "Wooohooo!!"

So, my plan at 1:46 am was to update my Facebook status to reflect this...ya know, so we did not 'forget' it.  (I'm guessing that was the intention at least)

Fast forward to 8:07am the next morning when I look at my home page and see "Shout out to the beautiful ladies on the corner".

Fail.

Happy Monday <3

Happy Veterans Day...

...to all those who have served and protected our country. My grandfather is just one of the people who deserves to be thanked today. Thank you Grandpa and thank you everyone who has served or is currently serving our county.

Happy Veterans Day and Happy Friday <3

24 years

Picture taken from a guy across the room who thought we needed a better picture then the waitress took (see below)

Last night, Jess and I celebrated Amanda's 24th birthday at Yumi in Seabright.  It was my first time eating there and I was graced by their delicious appetizers, sushi and dessert. We brought two bottles of wine with us and had a few hours of girl talk and great food to compliment the wine, of course.  I love nights like that (especially since I was so tired I could barely formulate a sentence. I actually mixed up a whole sentence at one point and did not even notice. I wish I could share the sentence with you, but I was so tired I forgot it). *insert silly mixed up sentence here*

 Wine and mood lighting

{Enter appetizer and dinner I forgot to take pictures of here}

Singing to the birthday girl <3
**we requested that the sushi chefs come over and sing as well, but we were denied**
I perked up enough to remember to take a photo when dessert came out...you can see where my priorities lie.
Here is a dark, but cute group shot.  The waitress assured me that the photo was bright enough even though the flash did not go off. I'd disagree, but at least she was nice enough to take a photo. Cheese :-D

Cheers to more celebrating this weekend to come!

I found this the other day on pinterest.  It is simple, but the words make a big impact.  Hope they help you through your Wednesday :)

Final Wedding Bells in 2011

On Saturday I attended my final wedding of 2011!  This year has been the year of love for my friends and it was celebrated with 6 weddings! If you've seen my other wedding posts ( here, here, here, and here) you know that I love weddings and adore shaking my groove thing.  At this wedding I held nothing back.  I danced like a maniac because, um...why not?  I only knew four people at the wedding, so I didn't think anyone would care what I looked like.
"Leave your fingerprint and grow our tree of love" Everyone picked a colored ink and left their fingerprint. Adorable.
1. Steven and me 2. Centerpieces, which were handmade 3. Mike and Amber 4. Candy bar, yay!
The happy groom and me. We worked at Lowes together for a while. Yes, I did work at Lowes and I was the lumber cashier...funny you should ask. ;)
 Best friend love.
 Happy couples <3
 Spreading the love.
Dancing the night away....

So, this wedding was on Saturday and when I tell you my calves still hurt from dancing I am NOT exaggerating.   That either means I danced up a storm or I am out of shape. Well, since I know I danced up a storm I'll go with that one ;)

**Note: I did, indeed, attack people when they tried to cross the dance floor to go to the bar and not dance. No one was safe. My feeling is people should dance...and I let them know**

By the second to last song Amber had left me, yes...I am calling you out, and I was out on the floor almost by myself.  So, I obviously danced over and introduced myself to two girls I had not seen out on the floor previously. I found out the one girl did not know anyone there and was sitting the whole time, wahhhh :(. I told her I wish I would have known and she replied "yeah, I saw you out here the whole night and I said to my date "that girl would be my best friend...look at her out there". Yes, I do and did make that impression. hahahaha It is probably because I am ridiculous.

How was everyone's weekend go?

Scarf Swap

I took part in a scarf swap hosted by Krysten from Why Girls are Weird.  I was so excited to take part in this because I love making new friends, I love getting packages, and I love scarfs! The person I was paired with is also named Angela AND has a significant other named Steven...small world, huh?

The rules of this swap were to send a scarf and package worth between $25 and $30 dollars to the person you were paired with. A few days ago I received this package from Ang and could barely contain my excitement....

She sent me TWO scarfs, a GREAT smelling candle, and coffee, which I can NOT wait to taste.  She gave me a little bit of everything I love!
Ang, I cannot tell you how many compliments I have gotten on this scarf already!

This post is a little late going up (I'm sorry Krysten!), but I cannot wait until the next swap happens!
. *Fingers crossed it will happen soon* So happy I got to take part in this! It was so fun and it was a great experience!

Halloween Night

On Halloween I decided to have a few people from Fossil over to celebrate.  My two night classes were canceled, so I was feeling free as could be.  I made buffalo chicken dip, the hugs and pretzel things I blogged about here and homemade mini monkey breads (I'll post recipes next week!). It was a fun and relaxing right where we drank, talked, laughed, and played with Siri, yes the new voice thing on the Iphone. She is ridiculous...

So, my mini get together:
1. My friend Carolyn literally dressed up as my cat. She is such a bitch, hahaha. She came in wearing orange and white and with an eye patch (Maxwell only has one eye).  2. Carolyn is playing with the straw trying to impersonate Maxwell 3. Chris was a guido, I was Sandy, and Carmella was a witch.
Here's a better picture of my costume because you can see my shoes.

This was the first year I would be at my place for Halloween, so I eagerly purchased a bag of kit kats to give out to the kiddies. At 6:30pm there was a knock at my door, so I assumed one of my friends arrived early. I walked to the door with my electric toothbrush going and heard "trick or treat". Really? I was embarrassed, yes two children embarrassed me, and was taken off guard. I walked over to the dish of candy I had, with tooth brush still running, and brought the kids over the candy.  FAIL. Good job, Angela.  I then assured myself I would do better with the next set of children.  Well, there was no next time. They were the ONLY kids that came :( Maybe next year I'll do better  -____-

Five + a Half

Have you ever met someone and thought they were too good to be true?  Have you ever felt like saying "what is wrong with you" when you meet a person who seemed close to perfect?  This is what I thought when I met Steven over 5 years ago.  He is one of the most genuine and kindhearted people I have ever met. He's one of those people that are too good to be true, but he's not because he is real.
Here's a quick trip down memory lane...
We've been together through it all.  From straight bangs to circular glasses, to prom, college dances and weddings, to deaths in the family, to mini vacations, to moving, to graduating, to new beginnings and everything in between; he has been my rock. He has never left my side through any thing and has shown me that people can be trusted and people do keep their word.  He has taught me how to love unconditionally and has always worked to keep our relationship strong. I have been so blessed to have him in my life.  I'm not sure what I have done to even deserve the privilege of knowing him, let alone being loved by him. But as you can imagine...I'm a lucky girl.

I wanted to take a moment out to thank him for the happiest five and a half years of my life. <3
