Halloween Party

Wow, Halloween weekend and day flew by and now we are in November. I'm trying to grasp it, but it is like slime...it won't stay put.  It freaks me out that this time NEXT year I'll be about a month away from having my master's degree and I'll be searching for a 'real' job. Wow, side-tracked: ANYWAY... back to Halloween weekend. I'm so excited to show you all what I was!  I originally planned on Ariel, but I put a costume together and just did not feel good about it. So, when I was reading one of my favorite blogs, brideblue, I saw that she put up some costume inspirations...and the rest is history. I knew as soon as I read her post I wanted to be Sandy from Grease. Yes, my hair color is different, but accessories are everything, people ;)

Sandy from Grease...can you see it? I also had red heals on, but you can't see them in this picture...ALSO there is a fake cigarette in my one hand. Ha ha

Addie dressed as a devil and her pup was dressed as an angel, so cute.
Some of the ladies <3 Kait, all the way to the right, throws the best parties. Love her.
Danny and Sandy <3

As I left the party, I threw my cigarette on the ground and recited "Tell me about it, stud" as I put the cigarette out with my red heal. Appropriate? I think  yes.

Fridays are for Friends

Last Friday I was planning on working from about 7am until 11pm, so I was kind of bummed.  After my first job I went to babysitting at 6pm and was mentally prepared to be there until I had to pinch myself occassionally to stay awake, so you can imagine my surprise when the parents go back at 8:15.
After composing myself I embraced that I was thrilled because I knew I'd be able to have a girls night, oooh oooh (said like they do in Baby Mama).
So, I scrambled through my closet and threw things on and off (if you look closely at the reflection in the mirror you MAY see some clothing all around...maybe) and got ready in a jiffy.
Then I met these beauties, Amanda and Jess
We laughed, caught up and acted silly <3
The bar by my apartment is incredible.
I love the bartenders, the bouncer, and the regular customers.
I'm famous when I walk in. Ok, ok, almost famous.
False, I'm just recognized when I walk in. Whatever...can't a girl dream a little ;)
Sometimes the best remedy is a girls night out, which is why this was just what the doctor ordered!
Hope everyone is enjoying their week so far and the start to November, geez louise...

**I'm having technical difficulties, which is why these pictures are munchkin sized and which is why I have not posted my HALLOWEEN pictures yet. Tomorrow: I promise :)

Hugs- not Kisses

This weekend I wanted to make a little treat that was easy, but yummy.  I decided to make a little dessert that involves pretzels and hugs candy.  Have you heard of hugs?  I cannot believe how many people have not heard of them. They are like Hershey kisses, but not because they have vanilla swirls. Ok...just got side-tracked  because my disbelief that some people don't know what they are haha.

So, how to make this little bite of goodness:

Ingredients:
1 bag of Hugs
1 bag of Waffle Pretzels

(^Easy enough)

Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees
2. Lay wax paper on a cookie sheet for easy removal
3. Place pretzels on cookie sheet and top with a hug
4. Put the treats into the oven for two minutes
5. Remove and let cool on rack for one minute
6. Give the treats a little "hat" aka: a pretzel top (they do not like being exposed)
7. Put finished product into the fridge to cool
8. Enjoy! (As if I even need to state this step) ;)

**Important note: Do not leave these in the oven any longer then 2 minutes and make sure you only let them cool for 1 minute OR they will melt all over and be messy**

And here is the finished product! YUM! I had some friends over after I made these and they loved them!

Oh...something random- I was in the grocery store yesterday, just minding my own business, and I walked past this lady, who was on her phone, and she did a double take when looking at me then put her phone to the side and said "You look like that girl in the movies! Are you in the movies?" I'm not sure WHO this woman could be talking about.  I laughed then shook my head no and said "thank you"...although I'm not sure it was a compliment. Who could be certain (only her, I guess).  I'm obviously a spitting image of someone if she wanted to interrupt her phone call to tell me this. I should have offered my autograph. Next time I'll be prepared :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
